Meanwhile, he boxes, plays rugby, and designs two lithographs for local sports associations; one red and yellow for boxing, one green, red and
blue for rugby. In this latter work, the three players fighting for the oval ball form a single figure. These interlaced lines together form a separate shape, bringing to mind his future
automatic drawings.
